All the places we saw in 2015

On May 8, 2015 we officially began a whole new adventure as a family in Italy. We experienced every emotion possible during that first week in temporary lodging on base. It was literally a feeling of a "whole new world" for us as we adjusted to our new life here. I also experienced so many "firsts" during this new beginning in Italy: being a military wife, my new full time job as a stay at home wife/mom, depending solely on Jason and I for EVERYTHING and not having family help us, living in a different country, and basically starting a "new" life in Italy. Although living here has its challenges and we have many moments of "ugh, I miss _______ back in the US", one of the biggest trade offs is TRAVELING! Since I am extremely late in starting this blog about our European adventures, I wanted to make sure to still document every place we have been and continue to see while living here. So as a fun reminder to us and to our family and friends, here is a quick summary of all the places we've been to and the highlights in each place:

-Conegliano, Italy: saw our first Giro d' Italia race and ventured onto our first castle there
-Venice, Italy: We conquered Venice for the first time using strollers!
-Trieste, Italy: Saw the beautiful Adriatic Sea and Miramare Castle
-Verona, Italy: Saw the Colosseum there and of course the famous Juliet Balcony and surrounding town
-Villach, Austria: Saw Villach town and then the Landskron Castle ruins
-Valvasone, Italy: Enjoyed their Medieval Festival
-Sirmione, Italy: Saw Lake Garda as well as Castello Scaligero
-Ljubljana,Slovenia: We saw the town of Ljugljana and also visited Predjama castle. On a separate trip back to Slovenia we also went to Postojna Cave!
-Pisa, Italy: Although small, we saw the entire city of Pisa in one day!
-Florence, Italy: Florence was filled with so many sites and beautiful architecture! We loved the leather market as well!
-Milan, Italy: We went on our first date night in Milan to see Dave Matthews and it was such a fun night!!!
-Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy: Hiked at our first Italian Alps!
-Rome, Italy: First trip to Rome for Thanksgiving!
-Pompeii, Italy: This city was an ancient Roman town-city near modern Naples. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 13 to 20 ft of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. It was buried under so much ash for about 1500 years until it was rediscovered.
-Sorrento, Italy: Strolled through the cutest town during their Christmas market time!
-Innsbruck, Austria: Spend our Christmas in Innsbruck!
-Munich, Germany: On our way back from Innsbruck we stopped at the famous Christmas market in Munich!
